Knowing the cannabinoid content and strength of a cannabis product is important for consumers to select a product suitable for their needs, to determine precise dosages, especially medical cannabis patients who need specific therapeutic effects, and\/or for recreational users to plan for the experience they want to have. Regularly testing can also help growers optimize potency in their flower. The state of Nevada requires samples to be tested for these 6 cannabinoids in order to be sold in a Nevada dispensary: CBDa, CBD, CBN, D9-THC, D8-THC, and THCA.<\/p>\n
[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”#FFFFFF” use_background_color_gradient=”on” background_color_gradient_stops=”#ffffff 1%|rgba(255,255,255,0.82) 100%” background_color_gradient_overlays_image=”on” background_image=”https:\/\/nvcann.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/10172426_17918279-scaled.jpg” custom_padding=”|||1px||” da_disable_devices=”off|off|off” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” da_is_popup=”off” da_exit_intent=”off” da_has_close=”on” da_alt_close=”off” da_dark_close=”off” da_not_modal=”on” da_is_singular=”off” da_with_loader=”off” da_has_shadow=”on”][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” max_width=”100%” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_icon font_icon=”;||divi||400″ icon_color=”gcid-274384ae-ead6-4784-9494-15839c635379″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-274384ae-ead6-4784-9494-15839c635379%22:%91%22icon_color%22%93}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][\/et_pb_icon][et_pb_heading title=”How we test” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” title_font=”|||on|||||” title_text_align=”center” title_text_color=”gcid-317d67da-67e6-4f7d-b26f-aa19b4740976″ title_font_size=”50px” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-317d67da-67e6-4f7d-b26f-aa19b4740976%22:%91%22title_text_color%22%93}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][\/et_pb_heading][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” text_font_size=”16px” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]<\/p>\n
Cannabis samples undergo sample preparation which include homogenization (to ensure a good representative sample), solvent extraction, filtration, and dilution before being processed on an instrument. There are multiple analytical techniques used to determine the cannabinoid content from cannabis or hemp derived products. We utilize Reverse-Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) coupled with a diode array detector for identification and quantification of 12 cannabinoids. This technique relies on solvents to pass the liquid sample through a separation column to a detector where their abundance is measured.
