About Us

YOUR ART, OUR SCIENCE

A LITTLE ABOUT US!

Who Are We?

NV Cann Labs was Established in 2016, and the first lab in Nevada to pass all proficiency testing on the first try. Our lab was founded and is run by ethical and skilled professionals with vast experience in plant genetics and nutrition, plant pathology, microbiology, statistics, analytical chemistry, nutritional chemistry, biochemistry, medicine, intellectual property law, health law, compliance law, business administration and management, and entrepreneurship.

Our lab uses and creates the highest standards of science and customer service to ensure the efficacy and safety of cannabis products for consumers, without disturbing the art and craft of cultivators and producers’ craft. Our practices ensure we are the stamp of approval between the state, cultivators, producers, and consumers. We know our decisions and practice transcend our laboratory, affecting our neighbors and peers, who may not only work in and around the industry or consume the products we test, but also witness the evolving reputation of the industry. We prioritize emphasizing the positive and robust scientific applications of cannabis to circumvent and mitigate the negative stigmas and connotations geared toward cannabis and the industry.

We take pride in being genuine and transparent, utilizing advanced scientific practices, maintaining good and lawful policies, and continuing the positive expansion of the cannabis industry through research and development initiatives. We continuously revise our practices to incorporate the most accurate methods and advanced technology.

Further, NV Cann Labs goes above and beyond to incorporate additional and customary lab methodologies that the state has yet to institute so that our lab is aligned with other established labs in industries regulated by the FDA, DEA, NIH, and EPA.

We are the lab that turns one professional’s botanical art into medical and recreational science.

From Our Owners

Thank you for your interest in NV Cann Labs. As proud owners, we think you’ll soon agree that we are the best testing option- the only testing option, in our biased opinions.

The truth of the matter is that we didn’t come to Las Vegas to do testing. In 2015, we thought we’d be where you’re sitting, owning a cultivation or production, utilizing testing facilities. Little did we know what life had in store for us.

When the lab option came to fruition, it just made sense. Instead of turning the option down, the question evolved into, “Why not?” Our group comprises 1. an orthopedic spinal surgeon, 2. an attorney with a background in biology, compliance, and intellectual property, 3. a CEO and salesman, and 4. a businessman. Our own cumulative experiences and expertise are all geared towards science, business, and medicine, so we decided to tackle the cannabis testing environment with the same level of skill, efficiency and degree of professionalism as we do in our individual careers. We knew the goal of providing the best testing, science, and customer service could be a tangible reality for us.

We quickly gained confirmation and more confidence in our abilities as NV Cann, one of the last labs to go live, became the only lab, on its first attempt, to pass all proficiency tests required by the State of Nevada in the final licensing processes. Soon thereafter, we quickly solidified a good working relationship with the State; we are considered a model lab- we frequently answer the State’s questions and are used as a reference whenever the State has concerns, new ideas, etc.

Today, we are excited to share our lab with you, and we look forward to improving the industry and growing our businesses together. Welcome to Team NV Cann!

Our Commitment to Our Clients

NV Cann Labs uses and creates the highest standards of science to ensure the efficacy and safety of products for consumers, without disturbing the nature and quality of cultivators’ and producers’ crafts. Our practices ensure we are the stamp of approval between the state, cultivators, producers and consumers. We know our decisions and practices transcend our laboratory, affecting our neighbors and peers, who may not only work in and around the industry or consume the products we test, but they also witness the evolving reputation of the industry. We prioritize emphasizing the positives and robust scientific applications of cannabis to circumvent and mitigate the negative stigmas and connotations geared towards cannabis and the industry. We also continuously revise our SOPs, practices and methodologies to incorporate up to date, best practices and information to address clients’ concerns, ensure testing standards, mitigate cross contamination, etc.

We take pride in being genuine and transparent, prioritizing heightened scientific practices and standards and maintaining good and lawful policies to continue the positive expansion of the industry. We ensure that every facet of our business reflects our high regard for our clients’ crafts. But also prioritize the trust consumers place in us, and the whole industry, when opting for these goods, whether recreationally or as their choice of medicine. Further, we mitigate liabilities to our clients and bring security to the industry by ensuring we won’t use gray area scientific practices or sketchy methodologies.  We are the lab that turns one professional’s botanical art into medical and recreational science.

Operations

Our licenses enable us to operate a Nevada, independent testing facility, whereby we test medical and recreational goods from both cultivation and production licensees, as well as individual, private citizens. Those goods include a myriad of different marijuana products, including: 1. Usable, 2. Wet, 3. Non-Solvent Extracts, 4. Solvent based Extracts, 5. Edible Marijuana, 6. Liquid Marijuana, and 7. Topical Marijuana. Similarly, depending on the type of sample, a variety of different tests and test packages are offered and or required.

The testing process is heavily regulated and scrutinized by the State. In fact, the State may access and review records and data upon its request. A general overview of the process entails the following:

  1. Acquisition & Verification: Collect, identify and register all samples in accordance with Nevada state regulations
  2. Product Registration: Verify samples and enter them into the laboratory’s database using regulated tracking and data collection means
  3. Laboratory Testing: Utilize state-of-the-art instrumentation for the analyses of potency, solvent residuals, heavy metals, microbial and mycotoxin, etc., as required under NAC 453A
  4. Analytical Overview: Oversee and review laboratory tests by our Lab Director and chemists, who expertly verify all testing procedures and the accuracy of data recorded and collected

Official Certification: Issue a Certificate of Analysis which indicates that a certain sampled lot has passed all required testing panels, such that the customer is able to release the lot for sale
